The Clients brief was for a light spacious spa style ensuite with heated floors, large format tiles, dressing table, abundant storage, his and hers basins and showers, plus a freestanding bath.
The colors, materials and the design needed to support their aging needs for a walk in shower and toilet, while inspiring daily wellness rituals shared together or privately.
The design of this ensuite began with addressing the zoning for preening and cleaning rituals within the perimeter foot print, the design offers flexibility with privacy as needed and maintains clearances for assisted living if required for the future. A privately contained ensuite to retreat to with a day spa feel.
Features of this privately contained ensuite:
Vanity Cabinetry – practicality with butterfly shaving mirrors, concealed power-USB dock in vanity drawer. The vanity wall cabinetry design appears freestanding, to create focus and sense of arrival to this spa style ensuite without revealing what is happening beyond.
Dressing table – with lights for makeup application orientated. Parallel placement of mirror to the side tall cupboard for viewing hair and body.
Toilet – positioned out of direct view when entering the ensuite. With a bulkhead over toilet and dressing table to recess track for top hung sliding screen for privacy. Sliding open the mirror screen provides a wider approach with a walker/assistant.
Freestanding bath – orientated to capture the ocean view and ensure space around for cleaning. Pendant light is IP rated to bridge the distance from the ceiling above the bath for a touch of luxury.
Shower – a generous shower foot print with dual and variable shower options, with Corian topped shower seat/shelf. The shower is defined by a framed dropped bulkhead with rain shower and a central void to allow for a feature pendant light.
